Like the vast majority of his contemporaries, Daniel’s motor racing career started in moderate circumstances. His seeds of interest were sown back in 2003 after visiting an indoor karting track at Batley in West Yorkshire. From there, Daniel’s relationship with the ultra-competitive world of motorsport really gathered pace.
After visiting Strubby, a former airfield in Lincolnshire, to spectate his first proper kart race, Daniel then went on to make his own competitive debut just a month later at Wombwell, near Barnsley. From that point on, Daniel and father Neil were hooked!
Balancing his secondary education alongside a highly successful formative career in the upper echelons of karting, Daniel completed his GCSEs successfully in mid-2008 while, at the same time, tackling his biggest motorsport challenge to date – his debut season of car racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
Racing in the ELF Renault Clio Cup in 2009, the sky truly is the limit for this hugely talented youngster.
